Rachel Egan

Rachel is a respected system leader with over 25 years’ experience of driving inclusive economic growth. Following a broad grounding in economic development at the beginning of her career, working at Coventry City Council and Redditch Borough Council, Rachel then specialised in employment and skills, leading on that agenda for Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council, Greater Birmingham & Solihull Local Enterprise Partnership and West Midlands Combined Authority. She was instrumental in securing the employment and skills aspects of the first two West Midlands Combined Authority devolution deals, working collaboratively with central government and the region’s colleges, universities, business leaders and local authorities. More recently Rachel’s focus has broadened, firstly returning to Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council to lead on their approach to delivering Inclusive Growth and in August 2024, taking on the role of Assistant Director for Regeneration and Property at Redditch and Bromsgrove Councils.

Rachel thrives on the opportunity to develop collaborative solutions to complex issues that will make a lasting, positive difference to people’s lives.
